City theatre lovers were in for a treat at the weekend as Vikash Khurana staged the play 'The Wind in the Willows,' which is based on the 1908 classic of children's literature by Kenneth Grahames. The play started with a prelude by Vikash in his impressive voice and he played the perfect narrator throughout. All the kids among the audience were eagerly waiting for the play to start, with their eyes set on the stage, to see their favourite characters - Rat, Mole, Toad, Otter and Badger - live on the stage.
The theme of the play revolves around Mole who flees to meet Ratty and becomes friends with Otter, Toad and Badger; and then how they go on an adventurous spree. The entire cast was very well appreciated by the audience. People were all praises for the sound and light effects as well. With the play being musical, there were quite a few dance performances by the cast that were well received by the audience. Kids were seen glued to their sets throughout the play, which ended on a happy note. When we caught up with seemingly pleased Harsha Jharia, Vice Principal of LAD college, as she came out of the theatre, she said, "I really enjoyed the play and it was a great act put together by the youngsters. Wonderful performances indeed!" — Aanniya Vij
